Due to the huge number of issues, the most complete reference for coins of the world - the Standard Catalog of World Coins - has been divided by its publisher into five volumes, which are the first five selections listed below.  The sixth selection below is a more economical and compact (but less comprehensive) resource for world coins from the mid-19th century through 1964. The final two selections cover Canadian Coins in greater detail.
