ANA WORLD'S FAIR OF MONEY APPROACHING

The American Numismatic Association's Worlds Fair of Money will be held in Denver August 16-19.  This annual show, which is making its first appearance in the Mile High City in 10 years, is arguably the annual highlight of all things numismatic.  From competitive exhibits to educational forums to auctions of prized rarities to a bourse where hundreds of dealers will offer virtually every type of numismatic collectible imaginable, this show has it all.  And admission is free!

Whether you're a seasoned collector or just a little curious about our hobby, there will be something for everyone.  Events targeted to youngsters include a Numismatic Treasure Trivia game, boy and girl scout coin collecting merit badge workshops, and a Young Numismatists Awards Breakfast and Auction.

The Smithsonian Institution’s traveling “Frontier Gold” exhibit from the National Numismatic Collection will be making its inaugural appearance. Other remarkable items on display will include one of the first U.S. silver dollars (struck in 1794), two the five known 1913 Liberty nickels, ten 1933 Saint-Gaudens double eagles (the ownership of which is in dispute), and uncut sheets of $5,000, $10,000 and $100,000 bills at the Treasury Department's $1 billion paper money exhibit.  A number of collectors will also have interesting exhibits on display, some with Colorado themes.

Numerous, local, regional and speciality clubs will have representatives on site, and some will be holding meetings.  "Numismatic Theatre" presentations on a variety of topics will be held each day.  Dealers on the bourse floor will offer coins from ancient times to the present, U.S. and world paper money, tokens, medals and more.  Mints from 20 nations will also have booths on the bourse.  Bring your want list!  Many dealers will also be interested in buying coins, paper money, etc. at the show.

Hosted by the Denver Coin Club, the World's Fair of Money will be held at the Colorado Convention Center at 700 14th St. in downtown Denver.  The show schedule is available on the ANA's web site (click on "Schedule-At-A-Glance ").

Telesphere Numismatics will be at table #1057.  If you attend this show, please stop by and say hello.
